Caribou Coffee (CBOU), McDonald's (MCD), Starbucks (SBUX), Yum Brands (YUM): "I like Caribou...I prefer Starbucks...Nike, Starbucks and McDonald's are all companies that are hugely valuable growth stocks...throw in Yum Brands while we are at it."
MarkWest Energy Partners (MWE): "It could go further, because of growth and the fact it yields 5%. Don't get impatient. Hold on to MWE."
Nike (NKE): "I've been liking that stock ever since they boosted the dividend. It isn't done. Nike goes higher."
Solar Capital (SLRC): "It has a good yield of 10%...I don't expect it to explode to the upside, but it has a good yield, and that is what you expect when you buy a mezzanine financial."
Kodiak Oil & Gas (KOG), EOG Resources (EOG): "(about KOG) you know I like that...let's not forget EOG."
Bearish Calls:
HCA Holdings (HCA): "...delivered a good quarter and is not getting credit because they levered up the balance sheet. I don't like companies that lever up the balance sheet. I'm a seller."
Hess (HES): "I'm disappointed in Hess. I don't think they execute well enough...I would take advantage of this run in Hess to take some off the table."
Xerox (XRX): "No, Xerox doesn't have it...I'd recommend a whole slew of tech stocks before I'd recommend that."
JDS Uniphase (JDSU): "Right now, I'm not into it...it was a better than expected quarter, but there are others that are better to own. I am not going to own JDSU."
