Ken Bell, CFA, CFP is the Senior Managing Rubbernecker of the Market Rubbernecker and the President of Aspera Financial, LLC. His investment experience includes research, portfolio management, trading, and asset allocation responsibilities at a number of leading asset management firms.

Prior to founding Aspera, Ken served as Senior Vice President at Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO) where he managed the Equity department, was responsible for $4 billion in assets, and ranked among the top U.S. mid-cap growth portfolio managers. As a buy-side analyst, he has conducted fundamental and valuation analysis on hundreds of companies across all sectors.

In his 17 year investment career, Ken has never approved a pay option ARM, bankrupted a major investment bank, debased a currency, vaporized a housing market, or masterminded a stock option scandal. He did, however, earn an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1995 with concentrations in analytical finance and accounting, and he also holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut.

When not researching the markets, Ken can often be found outside running and cycling. He has run a number of marathons, completed two Ironman triathlons, and bicycled across the country. He lives with his beautiful wife and three “junior analysts” in Cary, North Carolina.
